We had a lot of nursing issues this first week. Aveline bites hard during nursing and, aside from the pain, there were a lot of problems associated with this bad latch, none of which seem to affect Aveline, thankfully, and only affect me. But it has really made this first week more difficult than I ever imagined, honestly. Nate has been wonderfully supportive. He has really come through for me and for Aveline during this difficult period. Talk about taking a crash course in breastfeeding! Ugh. I think both of our moods would have been better had we had no nursing issues. It has been by far one of the hardest things I've ever gotten through, pain-wise, next to labor.
I have to remind myself though, when I am bleeding from nursing, and in pain, that these are quality problems, because without a baby, I wouldn't have them. And I am so grateful for her in our lives.
So here is a video where I look very haggard, but not as haggard as I did in the videos we took in the first few days, so I'm slightly willing to post it. Aveline looks super cute, though.
